Food allergies are a serious concern for many individuals around the world, affecting their daily lives and even their participation in sports and physical activities. One individual who is taking a stand against this issue is a record-breaking cyclist who is embarking on a unique charity fundraising challenge to raise awareness for severe food allergies.

The Traces project, led by the cyclist Ronan Mc Laughlin, aims to shed light on the challenges faced by those with severe food allergies, specifically nuts, peanuts, sesame, and eggs. Ronan will be riding his bike over 2000 kms around the coast of Ireland in less than 5 days, all while avoiding these allergens to demonstrate the obstacles that individuals with food allergies encounter on a daily basis. In addition to raising awareness for food allergies, the Traces project also has a lofty goal of breaking a cycling world record. This ambitious undertaking not only aims to make a difference in the lives of those with food allergies but also in the food and sports nutrition industries, igniting change and promoting greater awareness and inclusivity for individuals with dietary restrictions. To support this unique initiative, the project is seeking potential sponsorships to help make this challenge a reality. By partnering with like-minded organisations and individuals, the Traces project hopes to make a significant impact and inspire positive change in how food allergies are perceived and accommodated in both the sports and larger communities. As we follow Ronan on his journey to break cycling records while raising awareness for severe food allergies, let us also reflect on the importance of inclusivity, understanding, and support for individuals with dietary restrictions. Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive and accommodating environment for all.
